Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine have developed the technologies of making bioactive substances from marine organisms. This enables the manufacture of original products ranging from drugs and cosmetic components to dietary additives and ingredients for the food processing industry.
The research and production enterprise, which is based in the Crimean port city of Sevastopol, has industrially launched a biotechnical module to fine-tune technological processes. To date, the enterprise has organized the manufacture of the several products, which are in great demand both in Ukraine and abroad.
However, the full-fledged industrial activity of a biofactory requires the installation of 12 modules, each operating as a complete production cycle. One module costs about one million euros.
